New Market - Mrs. Mary Hampton, 87, who lived two miles south of here, died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. She was born June 25, 1878, in Bates County, MO to Solomon and Martha Pointer Kessler. She married Edward Hampton Dec 28, 1898, in Crawfordsville. She was a member of the New Market Christian Church. Survivors include five sons, Claude of Frankfort; Raymond of Waynetown; Manford of Akron, Ohio; Bert of New Ross and Herschell of New Market; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Hites and Mrs. Beatric Forest both of Crawfordsville; a brother, John Kessler of Ladoga; a sister, Mrs. Lora Friend of Anderson; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two children. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Noble Reeves Funeral Home, New Market, Revs. John Servies and Howard Miller will officiate. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. - kbz
